This presentation will describe the background on the measurement of macular pigment and how it influences ocular nutrition. It will summarise the novel protocol for using dual-wavelength autofluorescence for the measurement of macular pigment. It will provide data obtained using this technology from the European Research Council funded clinical trials CREST. It will make recommendations on how and when to use this technology in the clinic setting.
