Are you fit to practise?

Peter Charlesworth, optometrist and managing director, Eyecare: 3 interactive CET Points

This workshop will review the GOC’s fitness to practise process. It will give up-to-date statistics regarding the number and source of complaints, it will also review the findings of recent cases heard by the FTP panels and will analyse the decisions made.

Cases will include findings on record keeping, honesty and criminal convictions and will review cases against Optometrists and DOs. We will briefly discuss the Honey Rose clinical negligence case.

Delegates will learn by example what is and what is not found acceptable by the FTP panel.
